About Joanna |
Jo went to Reading University
where she read English and Classical studies gaining a
first class honours degree. After a time of looking for
the right type of career for herself she moved into London
and worked for the Mean Fiddler organisation. This gave
her a good grounding in some aspects of the entertainment
industry and then she moved into the realm of
sport and show business by working as an agent with MPCE. Until November
2002 she worked for the British Speakers'
Bureau and was prone to dropping rather well known
names of celebrities or politicians she engaged for
conferences and business functions! She got her Dad
Charlie Dymock's autograph (down boy down!), but sadly the
company struggled after 9/11 and she was made redundant.
So until 2007 she worked for the big Academic
Publishers Taylor and
Francis (T & F) . During this time
it re-located from London to Abingdon.
Instead of moving to Abingdon, Jo commuted for three
hectic years after which she moved to much smaller
Earthscan, which published books on Sustainability
and Green issues. With her work back in London she
re-located to a pleasant flat in the City and was able
to walk to work. After three very happy years with
Earthscan, in May 2011, she, along with most of the
workforce, was made redundant when Earthscan
was bought up by T
& F . However, she immediately secured a
post with International publisher Sage . She
became Senior Regional Sales Manager (Asia -
Pacific) and consequently went to live
Singapore in July 2011 where she was based. She has
moved "flat" 4times and now has an airy modern 4th
floor apartment in pretty Joo Chiat, which is convenient
for the Airport, as she travels extensively. Jo moved
from Sage in April 2017 to become Head of Digital Sales,
Asia Pacific at Bloomsbury
Publishing UK. |
